monday in review

monday began with me being in a giddily good mood. i spent much of the day
bouncing off the walls and being generally upbeat. wearing a pair of
white trousers with large strobing red lights on them and a white tshirt
featuring an extruded orange smiley which glows under uv light.

the day ended with the familiar mad-dash taxi ride across london from
old street to kilburn that i occasionally have to perform. and, for
the second time on this particular route, leaving one of my mobile
phones in the cab. when i'm engaged by some project or another i'm
intensely and deeply focused. with the side effect that when i'm not
at one with a vi terminal i'm a scatty dithery mess of a person.
this plus my propensity for making calls from cabs makes such phone
loss a bit of a likelihood. this time i had to pay a late evening trip
to bishopsgate police station to retrieve it. i feel very foolish.

i'd just like to add at this point that i don't think i've ever had a bad
experience of the police. i have quite a lot of respect for the job
they do. despite having been arrested three (i think) times in the past
i've always admired the professionalism i've encountered.

preparations for upcoming webcam projects continue apace.

the day was also tinged with surreality for reasons i shall document
in a minute.
