as well as financial responsibility, it is also a very important goal for me this year - as regular readers will be acutely aware - to move flat. the insoluble noisy neighbour problem i've frequently described and never managed to solve is very unhealthy for me and not conducive to mental wellbeing. the opportunity has arisen thanks to my friend and go partner, mike [http://www.mikespace.net] having need of a flatmate, and thanks also to something else which will be the subject of my next announcement. and so it is that at the end of february i shall be moving from swiss cottage to willesden green for some peace and quiet. oh the irony. sometimes everything just fits into place; this move also places me within a stones throw of the place i need to be for my frequent voluntary shifts. and the rent is cheaper, too. which follows with the whole financial responsibility thing. there are some interesting aspects to this move. after a year of living blissfully on my own, i will be interested to see how readily i adjust to sharing again. there is also a (rather large) television in the flat. after living without tv for so long, and not missing it in the slightest, will i find myself drawn in to it again? time will tell. it should at least provide the opportunity for mike and i to play go properly, without the distraction of catching up in bulk on the events in each others lives. another interesting aspect for me is the fact that, despite his appalling lack of updates recently, it looks like it will become a two blog flat. mike assures me he is on the verge of relaunching his website. welcome to the blog brother household. i suspect that this will add an interesting dynamic to what both he and i write on our sites. expect more news of this. the issue of my (many) webcams has already been broached, and - hey - adsl is already installed. so thats settled then :-) this move is such a completely positive and healthy thing for me, that i'm excited already. i await the birth of geekhaus. before i can make this posivite, healthy step, though, i have a very turbulent and testing month ahead of me. (see next announcement...)
