so one of my (varied) aims for the year is to put myself online in a more wholehearted and complete way than ever before. some of the steps towards this mean subtle changes to the way i write, and for me to increase the frequency of postings, if not necessarily total verbiage. i also plan to buy a scanner, so the assorted two-dimensional analogue aspects of my life can be here preserved. these would include such things as photographs, documents, scribblings, the many backs of fag packets and napkins i end up covering and the famous chrisr notebooks. i'd very much like to buy a digital camera, but my money needs to be flowing in other directions for the short term. so whilst rampant photography is on the cards, it wont happen just yet. obviously the webcams will only become more numerous, reliable and featureful. and audio journalling is a concept i haven't yet abandoned. besides these things, which seem quite obvious to me, though, i'm trying to look fundamentally at what a life is. and how (if one is brave or foolish enough) it can be placed onto the internet. there are the many oft discussed limitations on what i can put into the online realm, and most of this lies in that place where my life crosses over or runs in parallel to that of others. i couldn't, for example, put the entirety of my email, icq and u-write histories online without a great many hurdles. i would very actively welcome any and all thoughts, suggestions and admonishments. however simple, crazy or silly they might sound. simple, crazy and silly are my middle names. my parents have a lot to answer for, as any regular visitor to my site will already acknowledge ;-) seriously, though; i really will consider anything, as long as it doesn't have negative implications on those around me. i'm perfectly comfortable with being a guinea-pig in the name of working out just how openly and firmly online a person can push themselves.
