my month without bandwidth: day four

the leased line is still connected. i'm clearly living on borrowed
time. everything is in place for making my transitional disconnection
as painless as it could be. pumpernickle hasn't gotten back to me
as promised, to give me further details about this disconnection.

meanwhile, raettig.org is safely moved to california. so i'm not
really making use of the line, except for my own personal connectivity.

since i first put my webcams online i have offered an invitation to
visitors here to request access to all of the cams which are not
publically displayed due to bandwidth limitations, and abliity to
view the live video streams we're serving.

given that most of the webcams are offline while i prepare a live
event for showstudio, and given also the fact that its time to
burn some bandwidth; the one webcam currently still broadcasting
is galadriel, which is an axis 2100 mounted above my bed. it is
capable of broadcasting instant refresh images, and video at a
framerate of up to 10fps. between now and whenever my line is cut off,
and during the times at which i'm at home, i offer full access to
the assorted facilities of this cam to anyone visiting this site.
just email gen (@raettig.org) to request a url and password for
the web server running from the camera iteslf. as this web server
has a load limit, passwords will be distributed on a first come first
served basis.
