food for thought; 1 webcam image == 50kb (approx) 1 image / minute == 3000kb / hour (approx) 1 image / minute x 24hrs == 72MB (approx) 1 image / minute x 24hrs x 1 month == 2.2GB (approx) orange gprs tariff makes that == GBP2400 (approx) if i wanted to broadcast a webcam image 24/7 these are obviously inflated figures given that i can route through cable at least 12hrs per day. given that gprs will soon be obsoleted by m-services/i-mode, my chances of persuading orange to give me a couple of gigs of transfer per month in order to promote their service and its reliability have to be greater than or equal to zero. (it was just a thought)
