i'm currently embracing the chaos that is another showstudio live event. we're looking at an eight hour event running two days running from midday (bst) tomorrow. thankfully we're operating from a studio in north london rather than a hotel, field or public toilet. these things are getting kind of routine now, so apart from the inevitable unforseen hitches it ought to be plain sailing. we're looking to use four webcams, probably on a one minute refresh. though god knows what they'll be pointing at. rumours that i will be appearing on both sides of the camera at this event are yet to be confirmed. i may offer further information about the event as it happens, depending on how organised i am. the downside is that it requires me to be at the studio at *seven in the morning*. hence i plan to rig up a webcam at the flat tonight. if you see me asleep after 6.30am-bst on thursday morning, please call and wake me. here is the official blurb about the event; Transformer| Nick Knight/Simon Foxton/Sam McKnight Enter a transgressive, transgendered netherworld where nothing is as it seems Fashion photographer Nick Knight, stylist Simon Foxton and hair stylist Sam McKnight have plumbed the depths of their darker desires and choreographed a spectacular live fashion event to be transmitted by the fashion broadcasting initiative, SHOWstudio, live on www.showstudio.com. At 12:00hrs GMT on Thursday 18 July, the team will throw open their studio doors to a global audience, where an entourage of models including Liberty Ross, Erin O'Connor and Zora Star, celebrities including Alexander McQueen and Katy England, performers, cross-dressers and eccentrics will indulge in a series of fashion transformations, transfigurations and fashion performances. Taking transgender as their point of departure, make-up artists, stylists and hair artists will transform men into women and vice versa, occidental individuals into oriental ones, slender girls to fulsome women and men to beasts and fowl. Not only will viewers be able to spectate on a live Nick Knight shoot and watch the entire spectacle develop from backstage in the make-up rooms, they will have a direct line to the team from their home and office computers. There will be an ongoing Web-chat throughout Transformer, through which viewers can converse directly with the team. Save your thoughts and questions until Thursday and log on to showstudio.com to participate in the ultimate end-of-term fashion party.
